In December, Casa Navàs hosted a public lecture focused on the reconstruction of its tower, one of the building’s most iconic architectural features. The event offered an opportunity to share with the public the heritage restoration work currently underway at this outstanding example of Catalan Modernisme.
The lecture was led by Joan Tous and Xavier Nualart, who presented the research, documentation and technical processes behind the reconstruction project. They explained the historical, architectural and technical criteria guiding the intervention, always ensuring a respectful and faithful approach to the original design by architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
A key aspect of the lecture was the emphasis on preliminary research. Historical documents, old photographs and architectural references played a crucial role in defining the reconstruction strategy. This rigorous approach highlights the importance of accuracy and responsibility in heritage restoration projects.
The reconstruction of the tower represents a significant step forward in Casa Navàs’ commitment to preserving its architectural identity. Beyond restoring a physical element, the project aims to recover a defining feature of the building’s original silhouette and historical character.
