Casa Navàs launches a children’s guided tour and resumes its special tours

  • The Children’s Visit: “Jardí Màgic de Cal Navàs” will be programmed at Easter and Sant Jordi’s Day

  • The special guided tours are resumed

Casa Navàs is launching a new guided tour dedicated to the family’s youngest members, specifically those between 4 and 8 years old. The experience will allow children to enter the world of Modernism thanks to a magical gardener who will show them his garden through magic, games, and smells. For Sant Jordi, Casa Navàs will present a new literary novelty and a new edition of the Navàs Market.

New Children’s Visit: El Jardí Màgic de Cal Navàs (The Magic Garden of Cal Navàs)

Casa Navàs is launching a new proposal to discover the interior of this Modernist jewel built by Lluís Domènech i Montaner.  The Children’s Visit: “The Magic Garden of Cal Navàs” is designed for the youngest members of the family, children between 4 and 8 years old, to introduce them to Modernism and its cultural heritage.

A special gardener, full of colour and fantasy, will lead the small visitors through the interior of the Casa Navàs while explaining its history through a story and magic. Through the senses —sight, smell, hearing, and touch— and while playing looking for shapes, colours and elements of nature, children will discover the magical garden of the Casa Navàs built by Lluís Domènech i Montaner.

In addition to highlighting the shapes of Art Nouveau, they will also work on fears as normal feelings among adults and children during the visit. Thanks to a magic cloth, we will learn to cope with these fears. The experience ends with a workshop in the old textile shop Sucesores Navàs. In this space, they will delve into the shapes of the Casa Navàs and will work on the mosaics and stained-glass windows through various handicrafts.

The visit will start on Sunday 17th April in a double morning session (10.30 am and 11.30 am) and will be repeated on Sant Jordi’s Day in the afternoon (5.30 pm and 6.30 pm).  The duration of the visit plus the workshop is an hour and a half and costs €11 per person.  The idea is to schedule this visit as part of the annual calendar of visits to Casa Navàs. Tickets are already on sale on the website www.casanavas.cat, at the entrance of Casa Navàs and in Reus’ Tourist Office.

The special guided tours are resumed

Now that the restoration of the service staircase has been completed, Casa Navàs has resumed all the special visits that had been interrupted while the works were being carried out because the first floor of the building could not be accessed. These are the Dramatized Visits (10, 14 and 24 April), the Photographic Visits (1 May) and the Modernist Nights (29 April). Therefore, the Guided Tours from Monday to Sunday and the Vermouth Tours on Saturdays and Sundays at noon and 1 p.m. will be maintained.  Tickets for all these visits are already on sale.

The Navàs Market is back

This Sant Jordi is the fourth edition of the Navàs Market, a project promoted by three artists from the city of Reus to show the art and crafts generated in the territory.  A total of 21 artisans will be exhibiting their products on 22 and 23 April in the old Casa Navàs textile shop. You will be able to find all kinds of manufactured works, such as jewellery, textiles, cosmetics and personal hygiene products, paintings, and ceramics.

Casa Navàs will also set up a stall at the door of the shop on Sant Jordi’s Day with the house’s books and unique offers for visitors.  As usual, the façade of the house will also be decorated with dozens of roses and the senyera.
